“Would DEFINITELY stay again!
:)”
June 18, 2008
LoriSNJ
I planned a family vacation,
almost 3 weeks ago, before my
brother is to be stationed in
Iraq. It was a first family
vacation in over 20 years and I
wanted to make special for him,
as well as all four families
happy. Theresa, the owner, was
very helpful advising me of
everything the motel had to
offer, as well as local area
things to do as this was our
first trip to Point Pleasant,
(we usually go to LBI). She even
waived the cancellation policy.
After reading many reviews on
Trip Advisor, which she told me
to check out, I immediately
booked with Amethyst.
The grounds were very neat.
Ample local parking. One lot
separates the motel from the
Boardwalk and Beach which was a
great walk with kids.
Continental breakfast was
wonderful with terrific coffee
and fresh bagels. The pool was
heated and a good size. We all
were traveling with children,
and floating devises were
permitted in the pool. Staff
even provided extra towels for
the pool.
The only problem we encountered
was upon check in, one room
still had a previous guest
inside. It was taken care of
immediately and staff gave us a
"temporary" room in order to
accommodate us and ample time to
clean the assigned room. In the
long run, we kept the
"temporary" room which was
bigger, at no extra charge, due
to the inconvenience and
miscommunication with the prior
guest.
The cleaning staff was above and
beyond! As I mentioned,
traveling with young children
means a disorganized motel room.
Surprisingly, after a tired day
at the beach, we returned to an
organized room: shoes, toys,
snacks etc. all put in it's
place. (a nice treat for mom!)
We reserved a room with 2 full
beds, which was a little small,
but this is an old Jersey Shore
motel. The room was bright, and
clean, as well as the property.
They even have a patio area with
grills should you choose to BBQ.
I would definitely stay at this
facility again due to the
friendliness, cleanliness, and
location to the beach &
boardwalk, especially with two
small children.
Upon check-out, Theresa advised
me of local events taking place
in Sept. that are "must-do's".
Again, at off’ season prices (as
this trip was), however the
ocean would be much warmer! I
believe we will "See you in
Sept." Theresa! Thank you to the
staff of Amethyst for making an
Airman's long overdue family
vacation a memorable one!

“Love
this warm place”

This place is a gem. After
checking out of a horrible motel
in seaside 24 hours after check
in, I drove over to PPB in hopes
of saving a vacation gone wrong.
I was greeted with smiles and
accommodated last minute with a
great room for me and my family.
Clean, warm and friendly, great
location and most of all a great
bang for your buck.
We are heading back this June
and will make this our yearly
tradition... |

"We
Love the Amethyst Beach Motel"
Oct 31, 2007
This was
our 2nd stay at the Amethyst
this season. We had a "Girl's
Week" in August, then returned
for a "Family Weekend" away in
September. The September weekend
was wonderful. 4 Generations of
our Family came together at the
Amethyst to enjoy the Beach,
Boardwalk, Seafood Festival and
we all drove down to Seaside
Heights for the Clown Festival
for the same weekend. All these
events were within walking
distance from the motel (except
the ClownFest).
Theresa, John and their Motel
family made our family very
comfortable and our stay
enjoyable.
We will definitely return next
year! |

"Great
Location"
Sep 4, 2007
my
8 year old daughter and i stayed
for one night as we had planned
a new york trip but having grown
up in new jersey and living in
tennessee for close to 25 years
i wanted to show her where i
spent my summers.
please realize this is not the
marriott marquis (where we
stayed the next two nightts)but
we enjoyed the amethyst just as
well..theresa and john (assume
the owners)were more than very
hospitable. our room opened to
the pool and we were very
fortunate to hit a unseasonably
warm weekend.the location is
great especaiily for kids .close
to the beach ,the amusement park
and the train station as we took
the train to n.y.city . the
breakfast was very good and
theresa worked very hard in
ensuring that.. when thersa
helped my daughter fix her hair
it made us feel we were with
family.
we look forward to returning
next summer for an extended stay
w/ the rest of the family.

Excellent motel , clean tidy and
great location , a little

"Our
2 night stay."
Aug 20, 2007
We booked
our stay knowing how close the
walk was to the beach and the
amusements. I would highly
recommend the Amethyst Beach
Motel to any family with
children. The rooms are clean
and all seem to be poolside. The
staff is friendly and kind.
There is a parking lot behind
the motel that was safe and
secure. The beach is only a
block and a half to the beach
and amusement area. I wish we
had planned more than a two-day
stay. We will be back next
summer.

Great time at the Amethyst!"
Aug 13, 2007
We
just returned from our stay at
the Amethyst and I felt
compelled to share my thoughts
on our stay. Let me start by
saying we booked our reservation
before reading the other reviews
on this website, and if we would
have found this website first, I
don't know if we would have
decided to stay at the Amethyst
given some of the negative
comments I read here. I was a
little worried about what we
would find at the Amethyst
because of the mixed reviews,
but I was quite pleased with our
stay.
We arrived prior to the official
check-in time, yet our room was
ready for us. The friendly young
lady at the desk checked us in
and accomodated our split
payment for the room (cash &
credit card). She was more than
helpful in getting us beach
passes and acquainting us with
the services of the hotel. When
we went to our room, it was
bright and cheerful and clean to
our picky standards for hotels.
There was a slight damp smell
when we first walked into the
room, but it disappeared (and
did not return) as soon as we
got the air conditioner going.
The Amethyst has a very inviting
pool that was right outside our
door. The kids loved being able
to walk out the door right to
the pool, and my sister and I
appreciated all of the lounge
chairs and seating that was
available right outside our door
as we supervised our children.
The pool was large enough to
accomodate many guests at one
time, but it was not so large
that the kids had an opportunity
to wander out of sight.
The Amethyst appears to be an
older hotel, but it is very well
maintained. There were a lot of
staff members about their
business, and they accomodated
our requests for more towels and
pillows. Oddly enough, inside
the room there was only one
visible electric outlet and it
was up near the drop ceiling
(there were outlets in the
bathroom area). Since we needed
an outlet for some necessary
medical equipment, the friendly
office staff helped us get an
extention cord so it could be
plugged in. It was an odd
request that they were able to
accomodate immediatley.
We had an opportunity to speak
with several guests who shared
that they have been going to the
Amethyst for decades and will
return again. I believe we will
be joining the list of other
satisfied guests who have become
loyal customers of the Amethyst.

Pleasant Beach:
Amethyst Beach Motel:
"Friendly and Clean! we will be
back!"
New York
Aug 8, 2007
Having stayed here 3 years ago,
I chose to stay again, this time
with my two children, and my
sister and her children. We had
adjoining rooms on the second
level overlooking the pool in
the courtyard.
The rooms were freshly painted,
NO HOTEL SMELL!!! It was very
clean. A priority for me. The
air conditioners were new. Room
131 is very spacious, the
adjoining room 132 is a little
tighter on space, but also very
clean. Breakfast was assorted
full size bagels, toasters
provided, cream cheese and
butter. Also muffins, all
fresh..Bring your own milk if
you do not like powdered
creamer..No dairy products were
provided for the coffee.
THe only thing that did not work
was the oven in room 132. It was
low priority for us...I probably
should have said something but
did not.
We were able to leave our pool
toys in the pool, many families
there did bring toys and
everyone shared, nothing was
missing on the last day when we
packed up. The atmosphere is
relaxed and pleasant, I only
wished there were some living
plants in the courtyard. It is
also clean, but no greenery
whatsoever. My 8 yr old made me
promise we would be back next
summer and we will. (2 minute
walk to beach and Jenkinsons
boardwalk)

Loved the
amethyst beach motel. It's very
close to the beach and
restaurants. Theresa was very
accommodating. She upgraded our

were four of us. I had my
bachelorette here last year in
July so because we liked it so
much, we decided to have a

New York
Jul 31, 2007
Theresa
was very helpful and made our
stay terrific despite tenuous
weather. Her customer service
was really great since it was so
tough to organize a weekend get
together. Everyone's schedules
are too different to organize a
week. For a motel, the
accommodations were great -
clean, staff were very helpful,
and Theresa certainly went out
of her way. When guests are
treated this way - we can't help
but to come back again.

This is a
great place. a very short walk
to the beach/boardwalk. The
staff is extremely friendly and
helpful. The rooms were clean
and comfortable. The pool is
really clean and is open late.
Continental breakfast is served
poolside every morning. Plenty
of lounge chairs too. My son and
i stayed here for a week and
honestly, weren't really
expecting much, having stayed at
other motels down the shore.
It’s just far enough back from
the boardwalk to avoid all the
noise. we were pleasantly
surprised. We would absolutely
stay here again.

This is a
very nice hotel. Although not on
the ocean, you can see the
boardwalk from your room. The
staff is very helpful and
attentive. The rooms are clean,
good-sized, and well-maintained.
Our room had an HDTV, which was
a definite bonus! The hotel also
has a nice-sized pool in the
center courtyard, if you chose
to just hang out at the hotel
for the day. The daily
continental breakfast was also a
plus. I have stayed at this
hotel a number of times before,
and recommend it to family and
friends whenever asked about a
nice reasonably-priced place to
stay at the shore.

gave us a late checkout the

distance from town. After being
disappointed at our original
choice of a motel in Point, we
were very pleased with the room

coffee and bagels in the morning

the weather, but Theresa, the
owner, went out of her way to
help make our stay more
enjoyable! She was friendly,
courteous, and very helpful to
us. She made helpful suggestions
to us on how to spend our rainy
day! despite the weather, we
enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are
in the process of being updated
in the off season, honestly they
need it, but the Motel is aware
of this and is working towards
improvements in the Decor and
amenities! The location is great
and the clientele is very family
oriented, not a bit of trouble
with loud or unruly guests!
would definitely go back!

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "Good Place to
Stay"
Aug 20, 2006: New York
We
just returned from a two night
stay. Overall, this was not a
bad place. Our room was clean
and the staff was friendly. We
had a view of the boardwalk from
our room. The heated pool was
good for a swim after the beach.
There were plenty of chairs
around the pool. The location
was very convenient. It was
about a 1.5-2 block walk to the
beach/boardwalk. They did charge
us $10 per day to park but if
you stay somewhere that you have
to drive to the beach, you will
end up paying more. The
continental breakfast in the
morning was very nice to have.
There were plenty of bagels,
donuts, muffins, coffee/tea and
juice. This made it easy since
we didn't have to go out looking
for a place to eat in the
morning. There was some
confusion before I left
regarding our stay, number of
days and arrival but they went
out of their way to make it
right. Unfortunately, my son got
an ear infection during our stay
and we ended up cutting it short
by one day and they were very
understanding. Next time I would
just confirm my reservation a
few days before I leave. When we
pulled up to the motel (and it
is a motel, not hotel), I saw
two women leaving and I asked
them how it was and they said
they have been going there for
18 years. I think that says alot
about a place. We will
definitely visit Point Pleasant
again and we will stay at the
Amethyst

Aug 15, 2006: Sunnyside
Dear Folks,
Firstly, let me say that I did
indeed write a review a few days
ago and do not see it in your
many scores of other reviews so
I'm trying it AGAIN.
Secondly, let me say that in the
10 yrs + that I've been staying
at The Amethyst; from when I was
single and in my early 30's
coming to The Amethyst with my
galpals to the last 3 years
since I've been married and have
taken my husband and our 4 yr
old son it has always been a
BLAST! :-) The Amethyst has and
always will be the best lodgings
in Pt. Pleasant hands down! You
can't beat the staff who are
always on call for everything
and anything -- they are truly
the BEST and demonstrate such
every single year. Professional
but totally down to earth!
I am returning to The Amethyst
on August 21, 2006 and shall
send my review of same
thereafter, which I know will be
yet another successful outing
for me and my family. Until
then! Quite Satisfied in
Sunnyside, NYC Yvette

Face
it....when you pick a
motel/hotel over the internet
for a location you've never been
to...it's a crapshoot. Imagine
my surprise when we got to the
Amethyst in Point Pleasant! What
a great location! What a great
little place (make your
reservations early!). It is appr
2 blks from the boardwalk (my 7
& 9 year olds were in heaven)
and the ocean! The entire 2 blk
walk consists of parking for the
boardwalk/ocean that other
people had to pay for!
Very efficient rooms (microwave
and small fridge...perfect!).
GREAT pool (clean!) and patio
area...people sitting by the
patio conversing while the kids
swam. Continental breakfast on
the patio (very Important: every
so often more chocolate donuts
would appear....this is key!)
Half a mile from a grocery store
and a liquor store is 2 blks
further (very nice selection!).
Buy sandwich fixings for your
beach outing (boardwalk can be
pricey). The fridge holds quite
a bit.
Boardwalk has something for
everyone....food, arcade,
carnival rides, shopping, etc..
This motel gears you towards
getting out and having fun. This
is not the Hyatt, people...think
turquoise, sand, beach towels
hanging over a railing in
anticipation of the next day's
adventure....etc.
Loved it!!!

We
have just returned from our
family 3 day vacation at the
amethyst motel at point pleasant
and we had a really nice time.
We went with four kids and they
really loved it. We had rooms
downstairs near the pool and
patio area and the kids felt
free to come and go in and out
of the rooms and back in the
pool . The fridge and microwave
came in handy. we had connecting
rooms with my sister and her
family and our parents came too.
the motel is very well run and
the staff is super friendly and
accommodating. every morning we
had fun eating the free
continental breakfast of donuts
and bagels. The coffee pot was
on all day long. the best part
was the short walk to the
boardwalk and beach. I will
recommend this motel for anyone
especially with kids.

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "Wonderful
experience!!!!!!!"
July
9, 2006: princesschristypa@lycos.com,
Walnutport, PA
Our
experience at the Amethyst Beach
Motel was well worth the rate
charged. We enjoyed the large
rooms and the clean, newly
remodeled tiled showers. We
enjoyed clean crisp sheets upon
our arrival and our rooms were
cleaned daily. Fresh bathroom
linen was received daily. We did
need a washcloth one day, but
they quickly retrieved one for
us when we asked, hastle free.
The pool and patio area was
large enough to accommodate all
of the guests, and still have
room to spare. The pool and
patio were also very clean. They
were also very prompt at wiping
the rain water off the tables.
Our son Kyle, enjoyed the pool
for hours daily!
The continental breakfast
exceeded our expectations with
fresh bagels, pastries and
coffee. When the weather was
poor, they opened up the newly
remodeled dining/social area for
us to enjoy our breakfast.
The walk to the beach is about
1.5-2 blocks but this is one of
the closest motels to the
boardwalk and major attractions.
They do also offer a shuttle to
the boardwalk.
The owners were very friendly,
kind, courteous, and
understanding of our needs. We
would highly recommend this
motel for a quality point
pleasant experience.
Kyle says....
I loved the pool and the whole
place!! I hope I get to go there
again next year!!!

"Count on us again next year!"
June 2, 2006:
Westchester County, NYMy
husband and I decided to get
away for the long Memorial Day
weekend and picked Point
Pleasant and the Amethysts
Motel. It was our first trip to
the Jersey shore and we enjoyed
our stay so much we extended it
an extra day.
The Amethysts Motel was exactly
what we needed - it was safe,
clean and in a prime location to
the beach and entertainment. We
had a great 2nd floor room with
all the basic needs including
(to our surprise) a microwave
and small refrigerator. We
viewed the long wait to find
parking for others not staying
at the motel and felt lucky that
the Amethysts was centrally
located and we could walk to
everything instead of spending
time looking for parking. We
even left the beach, went back
to the motel for a while and
then walked back to the beach
later. It was a pleasure to not
have to worry about moving the
car.
Theresa and her staff were all
top notch even on the very
crowded and hectic weekend.
Every morning we were treated to
fresh coffee, bagels and donuts
– even on our last day there
when the motel was near empty
-the goodies were served like
clockwork.
We decided to make Point
Pleasant Beach and The Amethysts
Motel a yearly Memorial Day
tradition and return again next

Amusements. The Motel is always
clean and the people are always
friendly. This is my 12th summer
going to the same motel. If's
it's a little chilly, they have
a heated in the ground pool that
the kids love to swim in. Most
of the rooms have 2 double beds
and a Microwave and mini
Refrigerator in them. We always
stayed in one of these rooms.
Now we stay in a room that has a
small efficiency in it.
The boys (17, 15, 7) love coming
to this motel. It's close enough
that the older boys can come and
go with no trouble at all.

during their busiest time –
Memorial Day weekend, and the
service I received was top
notch. The rooms are clean,
spacious and fully accessible to
anyone, even those with special
needs. I’m looking forward to a
much need vacation this summer
and if it wasn’t for Theresa’s
patience and her willingness to
help me find the right vacation
package I would be lost. From
all of us in Bangor, PA I would
surely recommend the Amethyst
Beach Hotel as your one stop,
family fun place to stay. Being
a relocated NJ Girl I truly miss
the southern NJ atmosphere and
the peacefulness of the beach.
Enjoy!

Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "Amethyst, we
will be coming back for the
summer"
Apr 12, 2006
Had a great time down the
shore last weekend,
On our prior visit to Point
Pleasant we stayed at a nice
motel on Broadway never
realizing that the Amethyst
was right down the street
from Jenkinsons and just a
couple blocks from town. It
is a clean well run motel.
Across the street is a cute
little park were the kids
played. The Easter egg hunt
up at Jenks was all the kids
could talk about on the ride
down, but after seeing the
pool in the center of the
motel outside our room they
are now concentrating on
when we will return for a
warm summer swim. We booked
for the last week in June
and are looking forward to
our return. Thanks for the
hospitality we recommend
this place highly

"Great place to stay"
Apr 12, 2006
My husband and I had a
wonderful stay at the amethyst
Beach Motel. We had a great
second floor room with a
overlooking the park lake and
boardwalk. The service was
great, the location was perfect
- just 5 mins walk to the beach.
The bed was comfy and the pool
and patio are perfect. We will
return in July to Point Pleasant
Beach and we will be staying at
the Amethyst. |

Stay!"
Mar 13, 2006:
Amethyst kept us warm and
comfortable before and after
the Special Olympics law
enforcement Polar Plunge. It
was as cold but the room was
warm and comfortable as was
the exquisitely hot shower.
The staff was great and even
let us test out our plunging
skills in their pool.
Although it was the middle
of the winter the pool was
clean and ready for a dive,
ice no extra charge. Will
definitely return for a
warmer swim this summer,
thanks to all at Amethyst
for making our plunge one to
remember.

Feb 9, 2006:
While we were visiting my
relatives, we decided to
take a walk and check out
the Motels in the area, as
we were looking to make
reservations for the summer.
They recommend 3 or 4
motels. We looked at all of
them and decided to go with
the Amethyst. We liked the
place so much that we end up
spending the weekend there.
My wife is so excited about
go back and bringing the
kids this summer.

Thanks for our happy stay
I recently returned to Egypt

having spent two weeks
at the Amethyst in Point

The staff was wonderful,
although it is the off

country; my family and I
were provided with all that
we requested.
Clean, warm, comfortable and
very representative of the
New Jersey Shore, my
family and I have stayed at
bigger more full service
hotels however we here
management treated us like

Point Pleasant Beach:
Amethyst Beach Motel: "Everyone Loved
it!"
Nov 28, 2005: My entire family,
friends, and even co-workers all stayed
at the Beach Motel the weekend of
October 2, 2005 to celebrate my wedding.
We must have had rented about 30 rooms
total. Not one person had a complaint.
We started booking rooms during their
high season, the summer of 2005.Even
though they were swamped, they always
made time to help us, and were friendly.
When the time came, and we arrived,
there were no mistakes (amazingly) and
everything went smoothly. And we were
high maintenance. The staff even helped
unload the car. They happily helped with
extra's such as giving out gift bags. We
brought some extra food to add to their
continental breakfast (which was
perfectly satisfactory all on its own).
They stored everything for us, and layed
out their regular breakfast, as well as
all out extras each morning, always with
a smile. And we were messy, too. Some of
us even ended up in their very clean
heated pool, which was still open.
As the bride, Theresa up-graded my room
to a 2nd floor suite. It was lovely. It
was clean, bright, cheerful, and had
plenty of room for all the people that
were in and out, as that room became
everybody's home base. The other rooms
were great, as well. I know because I
was in almost all of them at one point
or another. Every guest said they would
and will stay there again. I know that
my husband and I certainly will.
I have been going to the Jersey shore
for 32 years, and this motel is far
superior to any of the motels I have
stayed in. Keep in mind, these are
Motels, not Hotels. If you're looking
for amenities that you'll find at the
Ritz, maybe you should go to the
islands. The Amethyst Beach Motel has
everything a Jersey girl (or couple,
family, etc.) needs and more! I can't thank them enough for making my
wedding weekend perfect! They covered
every detail.

Amethyst Beach Motel:
"Good For The Money"
August 21, 2005: New York ,
I just returned from the Amethyst after a
three night stay with my husband and three small
children. The room cost $149 a night for five of
us and this included a continental breakfast
which included donuts, bagels and beverages,
perfect for the kids. The room was clean. I
found the staff friendly. My kids loved the pool
which was open in the evening and perfect for a
swim after walking on the boardwalk. The hotel
is close to the beach, about three blocks which
is a short distance. I truly have nothing
negative to say. It wasn't the Ritz, however, it
was fine for the price. I would consider
returning in the future. It is a good place to
stay if you have small children.

We are a family of three and found the Amethyst rooms immaculate as
well as the patio and pool. Although the weather wasn’t the greatest
management had the pool almost as warm as a hot tub and their main lobby
area set up for rainy day movies on a plasma screen with full theatre
sound. If that wasn’t enough they also provide us with free internet
access, personal pizza’s and Hot Dogs. This was real Jersey Shore
experience which we will return for again. We took some pictures which
we have posted and encourage anyone seeking the coolest place in town to
stay at Amethyst |

"Great Family Place"
July 3, 2005: New
York . My sister
and I decided to take my grandparents and the
kids (3years old and 14 months) to the Jersey
shore. At first we booked three nights at the
Hershey Motel at Seaside Heights. WHAT A
MISTAKE!!! That place was so run down and was
not appropriate for children. We heard about the
Amethyst from a friend of mine. So we called
them and with luck they had space for us. The
place is clean. The staff goes out of their way
to meet your needs. The pool is great. (not to
big but big enough) and the boardwalk was a
block away. If you have small children this is
the place to stay. My two kids enjoyed every
second of our trip. There is also continental
breakfast served every morning.
(coffee, juice, bagels and donuts) I
would highly recommend this place for a family
getaway.

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel:
"Very pleased! What an awesome
surprise!"
June 27, 2005: Bergen County, NJ.
This was our first time at the
Amethyst--I stayed there from June 22nd through
June 25th with my 11 yo daughter. When I booked
our room back in February, I'd seen some pretty
poor reviews here, BUT, I've found repeatedly
that perfectly wonderful hotels sometimes get a
bad rap on Trip Advisor for no other reason than
that some people are just whiney perfectionists
with an axe to grind.
This is now the THIRD hotel I've stayed at that
received less than stellar reviews on Trip
Advisor and turned out to be outstanding!
Our room was newly painted in a cheerful yellow,
clean, and completely devoid of mold or mildew
(I'm severely allergic to mold and I would've
known if there was a problem.) The A/C worked
incredibly well, the TV was fine, and the shower
was fantastic--no shortage of hot water and
plenty of water power.
The heated pool was a pleasant surprise--very
well kept, spotless, and a nice comfortable
temperature (while the ocean was freezing, the
pool was just right and even on less than hot
days, we could still swim in comfort.)
Continental breakfast was ok. Granted the bagels
tasted better when toasted (several toasters
were available!), but other than that, it was a
good bargain and included OJ, apple juice, and
plenty of coffee. Later in the day, after
breakfast, they served delicious iced coffee in
the patio.
The people running the Amethyst went out of
their way to be helpful and polite. Every single
person we came in contact with was completely
professional and a pleasure to deal with.
The location of the motel was perfect. All one
had to do was walk at most 2 blocks to get to
the main part of Jenkinson's boardwalk, and yet
it was very quiet at the motel itself. Our room
looked out onto a little lake/pond with geese
and swans--a very pretty view.
I've stayed at other motels in PPB. I will
never consider going anywhere other than the
Amethyst again.

"We'll be back!"
June 8, 2005:
We recently kicked off the summer
with a stay at the Amethyst Beach Hotel, and
what a way to start! We've stayed there to
begin the summer for the last few years and
each year gets better and better. The hotel
looks great, our rooms were clean and
updated, brightly painted and well
maintained. This was the first year we had a
unit with a kitchen in it and everything was
working well and very clean. The pool is the
best part and it's centrally located - the
swimmers loved it!! The staff, as always,
was attentive and friendly. We'll definitely
be back! Keep up the good work!

Point Pleasant Beach:
Amethyst Beach Motel:
"Our Annual NJ
Vacation Motel is ONLY at Amethysts!"
June 4, 2005: I tell people about
this motel all the time, yet I can never
seem to do it justice! When I call to
reserve our room, I just tell them where I'm
coming from and what weekend and I am
greeted by name! They even know the exact
room I prefer and, as the case one year,
shifted their reservations around to get us
in that room (consider that this involved
people arriving/checking out on different
days, number in their party, etc). Everyone
is made to feel that special and that
welcomed by Theresa, John, their family and
staff. The rooms have always been clean. The
pool in perfect condition. They make sure
all guests, first timers or chronic
repeaters (like us) are happy. Since my
husband is bored by beach/boardwalk (yes, I
do think something is wrong with him), every
year I bring a different friend who brings a
child and a child's friend and our son
brings a different friend. We want to share
the experience with as many friends as
possible. One year we had too many for the
beds and in a matter of minutes there was an
extra cot in our room, no questions asked.
We arrive early a.m. every year before
checkin time and, after driving four hours,
they either have our room ready in advance
knowing we will be early or will give us
keys to another room so we can change and
dive into the pool! Our friends have all
been impressed. Last years friend BEGGED to
come again this year! She has also been
telling pending-vactioners to the Jersey
Shore about Amethyst's! Our son is so
comfortable there that he takes our
continental breakfast orders the first night
there and, when we wake up each morning, he
already has our "requests" in the room
waiting for us and he is in the pool! They
have never questioned him carrying all this
food. He wants everyone to enjoy themselves
as much as he does every year and so does
Amethyst's! Last year we decided on our
annual vacation that we wanted to return two
weeks later for a shorter vacation, during
peak no-vacancy season. They made it happen!
Ahhh....two months to go and we'll be back
there for the 6th (or is it 7th?) year in a
row and continuing..

BEACH, NJ.."
June 1, 2005: My family and I have been
going to the Amethyst Beach Motel for 3 years,
this coming July is our 4th year. I would never
stay anywhere else!! This motel caters to
families, there is a beautiful courtyard where I
know my children are safe. The staff has been
very kind and the management has worked with me
as far as paying my vacation off when I fell on
hard times. I know every year I can go to the
Amethyst, without one worry. We are in walking
distance to the boardwalk and the beach. The
past 3 years, the same people have been coming
and my 10 year old daughter has made several
friends who look forward to seeing each other
every July. This is the place to stay in Point

"BEST VALUE IN POINT PLEASANT
BEACH! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"
May 25, 2005: Tried to make reservations
to go to Pt. Pleasant Beach for the weekend and
was confused by the difference in pricing among
the hotels I called. We decided to take a chance
and go down without a reservation so that we
could see first hand why some hotels were
charging so much less than others. We really
didn't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel
room since we were only there for one night so
we started at the least expensive motels on
Broadway which are located so far from the main
boardwalk you have to drive there and pay for
parking. Ultimately we worked ourselves up close
to the main boardwalk and found the Amethyst
Beach Motel which is where we ultimately stayed.
Yes we paid a higher price than what we would
have at many of the other motels but Amethyst
was nicely maintained and once we parked we
could walk to the main beach and boardwalk as
well as town shopping. We now understand the
difference in pricing among other motels and
hotels and have come to learn that the old
saying you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR is true. We too
share the many positive comments made on
tripadvisor with regard to this hotel and will
be returning.
